Misty Edwards: Relent video and lyrics

Misty Edwards: Relent video and lyrics

One of the most amazing worship leaders in this generation is undoubtedly Misty Edwards.  Misty hails from Kansas City, Missouri where she leads worship at Mike Bickle’s International House of Prayer, most often referred to as IHOP.    The daughter of a music teacher, Misty began her musical journey as a leader when she took on an internship at the House of Prayer.  Misty has her own website where she even gives away some great freebies.  You can check out Misty Edwards' website here: Misty Edwards

Misty Edwards has that sound quality to her voice that you often hear in Canadian artists (think Sarah McLachlan); but make no mistake about it; you aren’t going to find one ounce of secular music coming from Misty.  I don’t know about you, but for me, when I listen to worship that’s what I want.  I want my worship to be 100% God focused and I don’t want anything from the world in my music.  If you’re looking for worship that expounds, teaches and brings you to a deeper, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ then check out Misty Edwards.

Here is a video of one of my favorite songs by Misty, “Relent.”  The lyrics are below.

Relent

You won't relent until You have it all
My heart is Yours

I'll set You as a seal upon my heart

As a seal upon my arm
For there is love that is as strong as death
Jealousy demanding as the grave
Many waters cannot quench this love

Come be the fire inside of me

Come be the flame upon my heart
come be the fire inside of me
Until You and I are one
